The Seol Sionna venture is an ambitious project to build a 25ft wooden sailing boat, evoking the small-to-medium class hooker that once sailed in the Shannon Estuary. The boat is being built in picturesque Querrin, overlooking the Shannon, and will be the first hooker in almost a century to sail the waters of the Shannon Estuary.

I have been following this project almost from the beginning and documenting it as a photographer has brought me as far away from my comfort zone as probably possible. It's challenging but also very enjoyable and because it is a self assigned project it gives me a chance to experiment wildly.
